3rd October 2005 – Loyalty Management UK, the company that owns and operates Nectar, the largest rewards programme in the UK, has signed up with OneVu. This move extends its online reach within the UK, making their customers’ interaction with the company even more convenient.
OneVu is the UK’s first consolidated electronic bill presentment and payment service which lets people see, track and pay all their bills from the familiar, secure environment of their online bank.
Nectar is the first loyalty card programme to sign up to the service which means that Nectar customers will be the first to be able to view their points balance through their normal online banking session. Uniquely, the points balance will be displayed “real time” from Nectar’s 24x7 online database, continuing Nectar’s strategy of delivering real time electronic commerce at all customer touchpoints. From there, they will be given the option of connecting with the Nectar website (www.nectar.com) to redeem their points, manage their account, or browse the rest of the Nectar website.
Roger Sniezek, E-Commerce Director at Loyalty Management UK, said: “Over half of all the households in the UK already participate in the Nectar programme and we already have an extremely high redemption rate – over half a billion pounds of rewards have been redeemed in the last three years. By enabling our customers to access their points statement whilst they are undertaking their online banking, we hope to tap into the incredible growth within the online banking sector and provide an additional convenient access point to our website.”
Martin Kearsley, OneVu CEO, said: “This is a perfect example of the broad application of our service, extending its appeal by enabling consumers to view their loyalty points balance via their online bank. I am delighted that Nectar have taken this opportunity to be the first loyalty scheme to offer their customers a simple, convenient and secure additional route to their website.”
